Autotech – Logitronics has been active since 1984 in the development of Automation systems, Telematics, etc. It has a long experience in the field of wearable electronics and wearables.
It has a close collaboration with the Departments of Textile Engineering and Automation Engineering, of Piraeus University of Applied Sciences.
Through this long term close collaboration, it has collaborated with the University of Gent in Belgium, the Rhodes University in South Africa, and more national and international institutions.
Autotech – Logitronics has good collaboration with the respective sectors in national defense, work protection, safety/security and has established a national know-how base in the very important area of wearable electronics.
Autotech – Logitronics has been a contributor of the ESTHIS Research Team (Electronic Sensoring Through High-tech Intelligent Systems).
As a member of the team, the company has participated in several projects regarding the development of wearable systems using electronics, smart fibres and fabrics.
The results of the research projects aimed in the development of telematics products and applications regarding wearable electronics, smart fabrics and garments in the sectors of health and prevention, sports, defence, work protection and safety, and more.
Autotech – Logitronics has been working on the development of a smart vest incorporating sensors and microcontroller for bio-data management, as well as a positioning module to locate the wearer.

ENTER 099- 2006, DEVELOPMENT OF TELEMATIC APPLICATIONS WITH THE USE OF SMART FIBERS AND SMART TEXTILES
PROGRAM FOR INSTITUTION OF RESEARCHERS FROM ABROAD IN THE GREEK RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM (PhD) (ENTER -2004)
The aim of the project was to develop new innovative systems to improve the quality of life and reduce the number of occupational accidents. The key systems are to be developed:
Implementation of sensors within the textile
Implementation of electronic circuits in the level of fibers
Set up of a smart cloth network
Remote monitoring of critical body functions (as a core function for an intensive patient monitoring system from a remote station)
A system for heating and / or cooling the human body when exposed to extreme temperature conditions, such as firefighters and workers in environments with deep freeze products.
Clothing with antistatic and anti-electromagnetic properties.
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FESTIVALS 2007 and 2008
Under the project 04 ENER 099, Autotech has contributed in the implementation of a smart garment, which is used for the measurement of the heartbeat.
The operating principle of this garment is based on the use of metal coated commercially available textile fibers.
With the metallic coating, the textile fibers acquire electro-conductive properties without losing their physical properties, i.e. they can be woven, washed, etc.,
In this way, gold electrodes, which are woven into any garment, are produced to measure biomedical electrical signals.
The smart clothing which was presented during the science and technology festivals, could provide ECG measurement using gold coated textile electrodes

The goal of this project proposal is to create an advanced electronics textile IoT platform (TexTronics_IoT) for integrating textile smart objects (IoT Nodes) with embedded intelligence and smart networking capabilities, and with multiple functionalities for sensing, energy harvesting, energy management, and smart actuation. The role of Autotech is to implement Microelectronics and IoT that will be used within the IoT for Wearables platform.

NATIONAL ACTION: "COOPERATION 2009"
This proposal concerned the cooperation of three partner organizations with a view to implementing innovative, multifunctional textiles. Specifically, it aimed at the implementation of fabrics which exhibit electrical conductivity as well as textiles with antimicrobial behavior.
The role of AUTOTECH was to implement the dedicated infrastructure for on-line monitoring and recording of measurements and to carry out the relevant measurements.

- Concept and objectives
The concept of the proposal is to develop metal coated fibres, yarns and fabrics with innovative properties to provide a new technology for solving the problem of permanent and long-term cooling and a new technology for dedicated filtration.

A research proposal for the implementation of an innovative smart vest prototype, incorporating wireless body sensor network and communication with remote system for vital-sign and human activity monitoring.
NGO INSTUTION NATIONAL CALL FOR RESEARCH PROPOSALS
Study critical parameters for developing smart fabrics and smart garments. It concerns the investigation of critical points for the development of textile sensors for the collection of biological signals by the human body as well as the integration of microelectronic systems for the collection, processing and transmission of biological signals to remote stations with medical personnel for monitoring of the person wearing the smart garment.
